We start right away with a Hacksaw Jim Duggan interview from his house. He says he’ll be back or something, I wasn’t really paying attention
-Yokozuna vs. Raven Clark-
Clark charges at Yoko and is immediately knocked down. Yoko does a chokeslam type move and then drops a leg onto Clark. Yoko splashes him in the corner then hits the bonzai drop for the pin. DUD.
We cut to Sean Mooney with more house show shilling. There’s a Luger and Tatanka promo for y’all.
-The Steiner Brothers vs. Dan Farren/White Shadow-
This is still very early in the Steiners career as they were fed jobber after jobber to beat. Scott and Shadow start off and Scott manhandles him to the point he drags him over to his corner, picks up his hand and tags in Farren. Scott tags in Rick and it’s Rick’s turn to manhandle some jobber. Scott gets tagged in and hits a double underhook suplex. Rick picks him up on his shoulders and brings him over to Scott who is on the top rope who DDT’s his head into the ground. Sick finisher. *.
We head to Alfred Hayes and he talks about the thrilling Tatanka/Shawn Michaels fued at the time
-Lex Luger vs. Jobber-
They never even announce the jobber’s name. Luger hits a suplex early on then forearms him to knock him out. Luger covers with his knee while posing to pick up the victory. DUD
Undertaker gives a promo about Giant Gonzalez
-Bob Backlund vs. Al Burke-
Backlund talks to some baby on the way to the ring and tries to offer Burke a handshake. Backlund ducks a lock up attempt a few times before locking up and ducking a Burke forearm. Burke charges but Backlund trips him up a few times then connects with a pair of arm-drags before Burke bails to the apron. Backlund slingshots him in however and starts working on Burke’s arm. Weird spot follows as Burke sends Backlund to the ropes who attempts to Thesz press him and Burke falls over and Backlund pins him? Weird finish. ¼*.
Great, another Hulk/Beefcake/Jimmy Hart promo.
Mean Gene hypes Wrestlemania IX. More promos from: Bret Hart, Giant Gonzalez, Tatanka and Crush.
-Doink vs. Joey Maggs-
Evil Doink locks up with Maggs to start and gets put into a headlock which Doink turns into a belly to back suplex. Maggs tries for a kick but Doink holds on and Maggs misses an enzugiri attempt allowing Doink to work over Maggs on the mat with a headlock. He then hits a suplex and a fireman’s carry. Maggs starts fighting back only to get chopped for his efforts. Doink powerslams Maggs after a lengthy off the ropes reversal sequences and Doink grabs the leg and pulls it upwards while sitting on Maggs for the submission. ½*.
More hype for the houseshow as Money Inc. speaks, followed by Mr. Perfect and Bret Hart.
That does it for this episode.
