A letter to the PTC.
Hello,
I am a loyal follower of the WWF and have noticed you have been hounding them for the past few years. Well, it appears you have finally lost. You didn't want the Rock to speak at the Republican Convention. He did. Why, PTC, why? Why don't you like the WWF? You claim they don't show moral values, too much violence and sexual overtones. Well, flipping through on BASIC CABLE at 9:00 on Monday makes me question if they are the worst television on TV. Look at this, it's CBS' Everybody Loves Raymond, a comedy. Wait Ray and his wife are having a conversation with Ray's parents about how many times they have sex a week. Oh my god! This is not sexual innuendoes, no it is blatant talk about sex. Flipping through some more, I come to Monday Night Football. Hey look, they are talking about players who have drug problems, have beat their wives, have illegitimate children, etc., etc. This is on BASIC CABLE, and your children are hearing about a hero of theirs beating his wife, or taking drugs, or having illegitimate children. Now I ask you PTC, when in recent memory has a wife been beaten by a WWF superstar been mentioned, a WWF star taking drugs, or a WWF star having illegitimate children? Oh wait, ABC and CBS programming are not a threat to the PTC, only the WWF.
Now, you at the PTC have excersized your "power" by having multiple companies not advertise on WWF programming. Hey PTC, LOOK AT THE HIGHEST RATED CABLE SHOW EVERY WEEK! IT'S WWF! Now, if you like to lose customers, that's fine with me, though maybe you should take Business 101 to see how pathetic you really are. Oh wait, you tell Toys R' Us not to advertise on WWF shows, but last I checked, wasn't WWF their highest selling action figures? I mean you hate the WWF, but you make profits off of them. So not only are you guys stupid, you are hypocrites. You can say all you want about the WWF, but face it, they are not nearly as bad as other programs out there, and if you don't like it change the channel. Can't you realize it is not Vince McMahon's fault that there are parents who don't monitor their childrens viewing of the WWF? They do have the TV-14 up there for a reason.
Okay, I will finish with the Rock at the Republican Convention. You didn't want him there. I see you want the Republican party to lose 14 million votes, Oh wait you say it's not really 14 million! Well, take half that then (though it's probably more than half if not 14 million itself) that's still 7 million votes. Now tell the Republican party those 7 million votes are not important. Whoa, you didn't pull it off did you. Gee, the Republicans know what they are doing, the PTC means absolutely nothing. So PTC, I think you should go the way of the dinosaurs. There is no need for censorship in the USA today. Why blame the WWF for a parents irresponsibility. Why? Because the WWF is easier to target that's why.
PTC, you are fools, hypocrites, and you have had absolutely no effect on the WWF. You are fighting a battle you can't win. Besides WWF is sports-ENTERTAINMENT. I turn on the news (which is on basic cable at the same time as Raw's last hour on some channels) and rather see people fighting for entertainment purposes than hear of 3 little girls getting raped, a guy getting pushed out the window or stabbed or shot. You can't censor that, it's worse than the WWF, and I see a 7-up commercial too. Oh, PTC, this is not over. I will write more letters on this site. Next time about "real" sports to WWF sports.
PTC, get real please, you are doing nothing but digging your own grave.
