Wednesday Comics #10
-Batman- Batman finds Luna and she sets her mutts on him. Looks like time is running out for Ms. Glass. I wonder where this is going to be headed as we only have two issues left. 1/1.
-Kamandi- Tuftan and his father are freed by Kamandi and the battle is on! This was a great action story and I am just loving this story. 2/2.
-Superman- Superman fights off the hive-mind creatures and sends a huge thought-blast at them with too much information for them to handle and now Superman has the upper hand. I guess Superman was fighting the Borg? I have to say, these last two issues have blown away the previous 8. 3/3.
-Deadman- Deadman manages to defeat Kalak and grab the special stone he needed to escape from the hell he was in. Well, that’s cool but there are still two issues left! 4/4.
-Green Lantern- Green Lantern flies off to meet the invading aliens and he’s ready to stop them single-handedly. This was just cool. It really showcases the bravado and cockiness of Jordan. 5/5.
-Metamorpho- With Metamorpho and Urania dead it is all set for the evil Metamorpho to get the Star of Atlantis. There is some cool exposition from one of the butler’s that is explained away so well. 6/6.
-Teen Titans- This focuses on Trident, the son of Dr. Light. However, a man in shadows tells Trident his identity is not all he seems and even Trident doesn’t remember who he was. This is setting up to be an awesome final two issues. 7/7.
-Strange Adventures- Strange stops Korga and sends him traveling through the Zeta Beam. Strange realized that in order to use the Zeta Beam there needs to be versions of you on both sides. Since Korga doesn’t have on Earth, where will he end up? Another fun, kooky issue. 8/8.
-Supergirl- Supergirl finds the aliens that are shooting things into the sun and she tries communicating with them. So they open their weapons on her. Uh-oh! This is one that has gotten better with each issue. 9/9.
-Metal Men- We finally see some action with the Metal Men going off to try and stop Chemo from exploding and basically wiping out the city. We finally see action here and we’ve been missing it since the early portion of this title. A good rebound from last week. 10/10.
-Wonder Woman- Wonder Woman is captured by the person orchestrating this whole thing and the woman she’s been fighting was Cheetah. Who is this guy and why does he want all the artifacts? Wonder Woman battles and defeats Cheetah. This has been just crammed with action and storyline and it maintains its place as the most in-depth story in Wednesday Comics. 11/11.
-Sgt. Rock- Rock is captured by the Nazi’s as Easy Co. gets even closer. This is setting up well for the final two issues. 12/12.
-Flash- The Flash ends up in a future where Grodd is old and seems to be in control of the apes. The crazy timeline stuff continues as Iris is hanging by a thread on the timestream and if Flash goes to save her, Grodd’s universe will perish. This is very interesting stuff. 13/13.
-Demon & Catwoman- Catwoman gets freed, and then gets re-possessed. I think. Whatever. 13/14.
-Hawkman- Hawkman starts fighting the dinosaur. This really has grinded to a halt after the awesome opening issues. The story has moved at a snail’s pace since the plane crashed. 13/15.
-The Bottom Line- This was another good issue of Wednesday Comics. I didn’t like it as much as last week because there were just some stand-out issues. As we get closer to the finale you can see some issues slowing down (Hawkman immediately jumps to mind) while other issues are finally picking up the pace (Metal Men I am looking at you). I can’t wait to see how each story ends in two weeks and only then can I fully evaluate how each story did.
