I’ll keep this one a little short. Heroes is such a breakout success that NBC saw fit to give this its own bi-monthly magazine! This debut issue is 100 pages long (exactly) and I grabbed the Diamond Exclusive cover. I was expecting some really cool insights into season 2 but instead you get a magazine that doesn’t cater to the real serious fans of the show but more to the casual ones. There are no secrets given for Season 2, in fact, they hardly talk about it. They talk as if it is so far away when Volume 2 is already over. They should’ve planned it ahead so we have insight into Volume 3 instead of pretending V2 is all secretive. Overall, you get some average articles on all things. There’s a list of what the Heroes actors are up to in other shows, a short episode guide, short interviews with most of the cast, and a group interview that didn’t go anywhere. I have to say I was underwhelmed by it. I was expecting something like Wizard where you’ll actually get inside facts instead of 100 pages of ads for Heroes and other TV shows. I blew threw the 100 pages in just a few hours all total and the content, while there, didn’t tell me anything I didn’t know from other interviews in other magazines, and in fact, was less than what you’d get in said magazines. The only thing I liked was the look at the Heroes online comic.

-The Bottom Line- This NBC promo book should be kept on the shelves. Especially for the hefty price ($10), which comes out to about 10 cents a page. Definitely not worth it for hardcore fans
