WWE Superstars and a PPV, too!
July 16th, 2009
Well, I have a very special treat in store for you today. Normall today is reserved just for the WWE Superstars review and while you will get to read the March 9th, 1991 episode review, you are also going to get a WWE PPV review from 1996! That PPV is In Your House 7: Good Friends, Better Enemies. it was on Classics.com and I figured, why not review it?
Also, I need to correct a mistake I made on Sunday. I posted the "new " Roddy Piper review without realizing it had already been posted. What should've gone there was the WWE: From the Vault - Shawn MIchaels DVD review instead.
American Dad Volume 4
July 20th, 2009
Sorry for the slight delay in this weeks DVD review. You see, I had taken a trip on Sunday to the Lost River Caverns in Hellerton, PA and I didn't get back home until a little later and just didn't have time for an update. I had a great time in PA. My wife and I visited the Lost River Caverns, a naturally developed cave in Hellerton with a river flowing through it that no one knows where it ends up. It was pretty impressive and we both really enjoyed it. After that we had a clambake buffet with some great food (including Clams, of course) and free beer. You can't beat that! We also took a quick trip to Bethlehem, PA for an ice cream stop but D and I decided to go through the historic part of Bethlehem because you can get ice cream anywhere. We ended with a stop at the Blue Mountain Winery and we sipped 6 different varieties of wine. We aren't big wine drinkers but we had fun.
So that was my trip. Let me not forget why you all are here. I do have the latest DVD review posted and today's entry is American Dad Volume 4. Check it out!
It looks to be a packed week here on the blog. Tuesday is of course TPL, Thursday is the WWE Superstars review, Saturday is the TPL-trade review and Sunday is the DVD review. I have a special TPL treat planned on Wednesday as well. Oh boy I can't wait for this week!
WWE Superstars 03/16/91
July 23rd, 2009
Hey all, I had the review for Superstars 03/16/91 done a long time ago but I just forgot to post it. Yeah, I have nothing else to say right now so just check out the review!
Simply Perfect
July 26th, 2009
I was so surprised when I opened up Mozilla Firefox and went to ESPN.com on Thursday to see that a Perfect Game had been thrown. I was even more surprised to see that it was tossed by Mark Buehrle. It was at that point I probably shrieked like a little girl. You see, I am in a fantasy baseball league with my co-workers and I was the one who had Buehrle on my team. The only bad thing about this is that I can't rib the guy I am playing (and currently beating) with this since it is summer vacation. Trust me, it'll be the first thing I mention when I see him in 7 weeks. Personal bias aside, this was only the 18th Perfect Game in MLB history and the first in 5 years. That is quite a feat.
Well, you probably didn't check this blog to read about my fantasy sports teams. No, I know you readers better than that. Today is Sunday and that means DVD Review day! This week I have two cool ones for you and both are Seth MacFarlane related. The first is the Family Guy Volume 7 DVD. Sure, they should release them as season sets but these continue selling so they ain't gonna stop with half-seasons and they're cheap enough on Amazon that it isn't too bad of an investment. Check out the review to see if you should make that investment! The second DVD is called Seth MacFarlane's Cavalcade of Comedy or something like that. It is a whole bunch of cutaway scenes that never made it to Family Guy either because of their length or content. Both of these were finished in June (June 15th for Cavalcade and June 28th for Family Guy) so these are both brand spankin' new! In fact, I only have 6 DVD's left to post (though that number may get to 7 by the end of tonight!).
In other news this weekend marks a very important one for me. It was two years ago this Monday that I got married. In fact, two years ago today was the rehearsal dinner. It's been a really fun two years and I really lucked out with my wife. She's the greatest.
I think that's a great way to end a post. Enjoy the coming week!
WWE Superstars 03/23/91 & Greatest Rivalries
July 30th, 2009
Well, I have a treat for you. First up is the usual Thursday business to attend to. Yeah, it's Superstars time! This week's episode is the March 23rd, 1991 episode, the episode right before Wrestlemania VII. Now for the special treat. I have for you the July theme of WWE Classics.com fully complete. The Greatest Rivalries Ever really did feature some of the great rivalries in WWE history (and very tellingly there were very few from after 2000). There were some great matches on here and I encourage you all to take a look.
