Click: Special Edition

During my week off last week, I finished not only the Family Guy DVD review (posted last week) but also the one I will posting today, AND two others. So I am a few weeks ahead now and I can focus on some season sets coming up, specifically Robot Chicken and the final season of Seinfeld. Up this week is Click: Special Edition. Honestly, this is a DVD I would have never bought had it not been on sale on Black Friday 2007. Still, for under $5? You can't go wrong. It was a steal and now the review is online for the whole world to see. Not much else going on now, there's a new Family Guy tomorrow so look for the review tomorrow. I also have two sets of cards left to be reviewed (Family Guy and Heroes) so look for those coming up down the pipeline! Let's Go Rangers!

Family Guy 03/02/08

-Family Guy 03/02/08: Play It Again, Brian-
Brian wins an award for an essay he wrote and gets a trip to Martha's Vineyard! He invites Peter and Lois along since they've been fighting and Peter has been neglecting her. Things are more of the same with Peter being an ass and Brian and Lois start getting closer. It gets to the point where Brian professes his love for her. You may ask where the kids were while the three of them were away and the answer is that they were being babysat by Hubert. That's a good babysitter. That provided some great gags. The main storyline eventually resolved itself after a fight between the two but they are best friends and Brian vows never to try that again. Brian smooths things over with Lois as well and overall the episode was more enjoyable that it has been in recent weeks. There was an Osmond gag that didn't go anywhere but most of the jokes hit. This was a definite improvement, probably the best of 2008 so far. B+.

Judge Judy: Justice Served

I suppose it is appropriate that this week's addition to the ol' website is Judge Judy: Justice Served. Appropriate because I live in New York, and the big news this week has been Eliot Spitzer and the scandal of him spending over $80k on hookers, specifically this Dupre girl. The Post certainly cashed in with some revealing photos of her but her 15 minutes is probably ticking right now. Anyway, Spitzer is gone, we have a new governor, and Judge Judy is now forever on my website. I am currently working on a duo of movies I loved as a child that stand up very well even 20 years later. That won't be up on the site until many months since I have quite a backlog. With another break coming up, I expect to finish the Seinfeld series, and the Futurama series which will put me through till summer! Nothing else to write, really, the NHL season is coming to a close and it looks the the Rangers will make it, unless they have an epic Mets-like collapse. Expect some NHL predictions before the playoffs begin! That's all this week, see you same place same time next week and check out TPL on Tuesday!

Robot Chicken Season Two

Well it is Saturday and you know what that means! Yep, another review has been listed! This time around we have Seth Green's opus, Robot Chicken Season Two. If you don't know what Robot Chicken is, well, then you are missing out. It is basically stop animation of our favorite toys doing crazy things. Now, if you liked this, you should also check out the Season One review I did as well.

Now I actually have 4 other DVD reviews in the bag that will get me through the rest of March and part of April as I finish off two DVD collections which feature the conclusion of two series. I am currently working on Seinfeld Season 9 (and I am on disc 2 already) and after that I will work on Futurama Vol. 4. When I finish both of those by the end of the month I really don't have many DVD's left to review. I have two music ones, the Futurama movie, the Family Guy movie and that's about it. Well, I do have the final 5 seasons of Full House but I watch that with my wife so those will be finished as I watch them. Luckily there are some DVD's coming out soon (or are already out) that I will be picking up, including the New Frontier movie, American Dad V3, Robot Chicken Star Wars, and a few other movies I may want to get.

That's enough rambling for now. The NCAA Basketball Tourney is in full swing and I have been watching some of the games, including a team I thought would make it far lose to San Diego. Yep, UCONN screwed over this SJU fan once again. I have been paying really close attention to the Rangers and with only 7 games left they look to be in the playoffs and with a few games left against the Pens and Devils may actually take the division. Look for my NHL predictions when the playoffs start. That's it for now, check out the TPL as I have been posting like crazy over there and I actually have two Masterworks reviews done that I haven't even posted yet!

The Devil Wears Prada

Well, I apologize for the Saturday review being released so late, but it has been a long and tiring week. Yeah, even though I was off from work this week I have worked hard around the house. I only finished one review but it was a long one so it was productive. It seems I am more tired when I don't work than when I do. It's like I have 7 hours of the day to fill up and it is exhausting! Anyway, today's review comes to you from a Black Friday 2007 purchase. This is a film I actually saw in the theaters. Anyway, check out my thoughts on The Devil Wears Prada. Also be sure to check TPL. I have three Masterworks reviews I have finished recently and they should find their way onto the website eventually. That's about it. The Rangers are only a few points away from clinching a playoff spot and could potentially win their division. With 5 games left, and two against Pitt, they could do it. Let's Go Rangers!
