A Trio of WWE Coliseum Videos
Topic: Wrestling
Boy do I have a treat for you! I have links for not one, not two but THREE reviews for WWE Coliseum Videos of the past. The first one is one of the first Coliseum Videos ever released and is called Best of the WWE Vol. 1. This was on the WWEGreatestMatches.com service last month and I reviewed it before my vacation to California and as a result I never posted the review here. The second two videos were on the WWGM service this month and the first is the followup to Best of Vol. 1 named, appropriately enough, Best of the WWE Vol. 2. Both of these were from 1985. We fast-forward nine years to 1994 for the next released called Best of Bret Hart. It's not as good as the Hart DVD at all and probably was the worst of the three tapes for various reasons. Why don't you just check out the review to find out why!

Spider-Man 3
Topic: DVD Reviews
Well, the DVD review I was working on and mentioned a bunch here is finally finished and it is the review for Spider-Man 3! How many of you guessed that's the one I was working on? It was a DVD packed with extras and the extras helped the DVD out, especially since I thought the film was lacking. Enjoy reading it - I should have two wrestling reviews posted tomorrow if I remember (they are done, but I just need to post them!). Before I leave here's one quick fact - I finished the review for Spider-Man 2.1 (the most recent DVD before this) on July 18th, 2007, or 4 and a half years before finishing this one!

WCCW 01/22/83
Topic: Wrestling
Yeah, I don't have too much to add for this one. It's a review of the January 22nd, 1983 WCCW match. This focuses very heavily on the Freebirds/Von Erich feud. In terms of reviews I have to finish one PPV from the service (I'm halfway through it), two Coliseum Videos, and then the matches (14 of them - totaling about 5 hours) so I hope to have them all done by the end of the month. I've been working on a DVD review, too, that I can get done while playing video games, and it looks like I've got the majority of that out of the way so I hope that'll be done by the end of the month, too. Stay tuned!

WCW Saturday Night! 2 really short episodes!
Topic: Wrestling
Hey all! I have reviewed the most recent episodes of WCW Saturday Night that've been posted to the WWEGreatestMatches.com website. They are the June 22nd and June 29th, 1996 episodes. These were only an hour long and they've been hacked down to 19 and 29 minutes respectively.  It affected the quality, big-time. so be forewarned.

WWE Superstars - 4 episodes!
Topic: Wrestling

I did tell you I would be working on this month's WWEGreatestMatches.com content! It's been a hectic week for me but I did manage to get through all four episodes of Superstars that were listed on the site, as well as a few of the matches that're part of their monthly theme. Even more surprisingly - I've been working on a DVD review of a DVD I've had for a while that I never reviewed, despite it being almost 5 years old.

Well, I did mention I reviewed four episodes of Superstars and I did - I finished off the 10/17/92, 10/24/92, 10/31/92 and 11/07/92 episodes of the show. The service is giving us Survivor Series 1992 as the monthly PPV, too, which coincides nicely with where these episodes of Superstars were heading, though there were two shows between the 11/07 episode and the PPV itselt.

WWE Raw 06/17 & 06/24/96
Topic: Wrestling

Hey! I told you I'd be starting the WWEGreatestMatches.com content this week! I just finished the two episodes of Raw that were listed, the June 17th, 1996 and June 24th, 1996 episode. These two episodes book-ended the 1996 King of the Ring event. Check out the reviews to see if the pre- and post-show episodes were any good.

I've also done the Introducing and most of the Hall of Fame Spotlight matches so I hope to be able to finish all the content on here by the end of the month and get back on track. I'm also juggling doing a DVD review of a movie I've had for months that I just haven't finished yet. Between all these reviews, work and all the books and magazines (and comics) I have to read, well, it will be a busy year!

WWEGreatestMatches.com - December 2011
Topic: Wrestling
Well, I promised you that this would be done and posted by the weekend and so here I am to deliver on that promise. Here is the December themed matches on WWEGreatestMatches.com. The theme was called WWE Workshop and it focused on all the different types of foreign objects that have been used in the squared circle. Some are rather common - ladders, tables, chairs, while others were surprising. Take a look at the matches on here and see what types of foreign objects are used!

Happy New Year!
Topic: Wrestling

Well, it is now 2012! I guess we should be getting for the end of the world, eh? I apologize for the long absence but I have a fantastic excuse. I was actually away for about a week as my wife and I took a nice and well-deserved trip over to the West Coast, specifically San Diego. I loved it there and I could totally see myself living there one day. Of course, being away meant that I didn't have time for reviews! I mean, really, why would I go all the way to San Diego just to watch wrestling matches and DVD's? So as a result of my trip I still haven't finished WWE's December matches (I am one away though and it should be up by Sunday) and I still didn't post the PPV they offered for December (though I reviewed it before I left). So I am here to correct those little wrongs. First up is One Night Stand 2008, a PPV event that fits in well with December's theme of illegal objects used in wrestling matches.

Check out that review and be back here later this weekend for the monthly matches. I hope to finish all of January's television shows, PPV events and matches by the end of the month and be up to date, at least in terms of WWEGreatestMatches.com and I really need to start reviewing some DVD's! I literally have 18 DVD's I need to review, and that doesn't include all the WWE Anthology Collections and past Wrestlemania's I haven't gotten to yet! Looks like it'll be a busy 2012 - I really want to have no DVD reviews hanging over my head for 2013!

Finishing up the TV Shows
Topic: Wrestling
I'm done with the TV shows of the month! It took a bit longer because a) the videos weren't really up until the first Monday of December (which was the 5th) and b) there were two more shows to review with Raw being added to my review list. Anyway, the two episodes posted were televised less than a week apart; the June 15th, 1996 episode of WCW Saturday (aside from a good Steiners/Harlem Heat match was dreadful) and the June 10th, 1996 episode of Monday Night Raw (the less said the better!). Look, I'd write more about these two but there are full reviews for you to read and I need to get started on Best of WWE Vol. 1 so I can try and finish it this weekend.

WWE Superstars
Topic: Wrestling
So I figured I'd just post all the rest of the Superstars episodes up here and clear out a trio of episodes from the queue of things to be reviewed. They are the 09/26, 10/03 and 10/10 episodes, with the last one being the start of the Survivor Series build-up. I hope to finish Raw and Saturday Night by tomorrow, do the PPV or the Coliseum Video this weekend and finish off the rest of the matches by next week.

Tons of TV Shows.

Wow, it's been a while! I was all excited to start posting some TV shows and reviews up here and so what did I do? Go silent for a week! What manners I have! It's not because I haven't been reviewing things, I actually am progressing nicely through this month and should finish by the time Christmas comes around (which is good since I plan on going away for the last week of the year). I just have forgot to post the episodes I've finished on here! As it stands, here's what I have for you: WCCW 01/08/83, WCW Saturday Night 06/08/96, WWE Monday Night Raw 06/03/96, and the surprisingly good WWE Superstars 09/19/92.

Right now I have 5 more episodes to watch (three of Superstars and one each of Saturday Night and Raw), the PPV event (One Night Stand 2008), the Coliseum Video (Best of WWE Vol. 1) and 12 of the 26 matches posted this month. So I've finished four of the 9 episodes, and 14 of the 26 matches, so I suppose I am almost halfway done. I hope to finish the 5 episodes this week and finish off the PPV, the Coliseum Video and the 12 matches the following week (which is entirely feasible since I have two days off next week!)

WWE: Best of WCW Nitro
Topic: DVD Reviews
Hey everyone, sorry for the lack of updates lately. I've been working on finishing the DVD I put up on the website today and it took me a bit longer than expected. I went away for Thanksgiving and it was basically four days of no reviews which is why I couldn't finish this until December. Now it's onto the WWE monthly content! I hope to start posting some of those reviews as I get them done starting tomorrow or Tuesday. Anyway, here's today's review! WWE: Best of WCW Nitro (WARNING - This is only for the most hardcore of Nitro fans!)

WWEGreatestMatches.com - November 2011
Topic: Wrestling

This has been a really good week for me, wrestling wise. Well, it's been a good week in general considering I'm not off until Monday but in terms of being a wrestling fan it's been awesome. I finished the monthly videos from WWE.com with about a week to spare (time to finish off 1-2 DVD reviews!). It was really a great week as it focused on Madison Square Garden, the de facto home of the WWE since its inception as the WWWF.

Speaking of MSG, I was there on Sunday night as part of Survivor Series. I've been tons of events at MSG: NHL, NBA, NCAA, NIT Finals, Concerts and even WWE TV tapings but I've never been there for a WWE PPV and I have to say - it was awesome. I can't wait to see it on DVD to see how the MSG crowd (we were AMPED) translated on screen. Plus, the last two matches were clean finishes and everything else came off as pretty good. I wouldn't have a single match under ** (even the Divas had a high-spot!) and most would be in the ***+ territority. It was awesome and now I'm just counting down the time until Wrestlemania XXX!

WWE The Biggest, Smallest, Strangest, Strongest
Topic: Wrestling

This rather wordy WWE Coliseum Video is the latest review up on my old website. I don't have too much else to add right now - I need to review some MSG Classics and I want it done by Sunday. Why Sunday? I'm going to Survivor Series!

WCCW Double Dip on this Veteran's Day
Topic: Wrestling

Hey! It's 11/11/11! I know a lot of people were making a big deal about it and I guess they should, seeing as it won't be around again for a century. We have one more triple day like that next year but then no more until 01/01/2101 or, 01/01/01 for short. We do have a palindrome day coming up in the next decade, though: 12/02/2021.

Anyway, today is Veteran's Day and I think it would be wise to remember those who fought for our freedom - specifically the United States Armed Forces. My father and both grandfathers served in the Army and my two grandfathers were in 5 wars between the two of them. I've always been very aware of the sacrifice soldiers make so I want them to know I appreciate what they do.

Finally, I do have two episodes of WCCW to debut tonight. It was actually listed as a double episode on WWEGreatestMatches.com and it was done that way for a good reason - this is the Star Wars show! The two episodes are 12/21/82 and 12/28/82. These are easily the two best episodes of WCCW I've seen and you've got to check out the second episode for an awesome Flair/Kerry Von Erich match. I have one more stand-alone video to review (a Coliserum Video) before getting to the monthly matches.
